The Safal Uganda Baati Foundation has hosted the leadership of the Mabaati Rolling Mills (MRM) Foundation from Nairobi, Kenya, together with donors from the Angaza Centre Foundation, during a visit to Tororo District that culminated in the handover of computers to the Safal Uganda Baati Technical Training Institute.

The donation marks a key milestone in the Foundation’s efforts to improve access to quality education and strengthen digital learning opportunities for young people in Uganda.

The computers are expected to enhance the institution’s ICT infrastructure, enabling students to acquire practical digital skills, improve access to online learning resources, and strengthen their preparedness for higher education and the job market.

The support comes at a time when digital literacy is increasingly recognised as a critical driver of educational attainment, innovation, and economic participation.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Jackie Tahakanizibwa, Head of Corporate and External Affairs at Uganda Baati Limited, said the donation reflects the foundation’s commitment to education as a tool for transformation.

“At the Safal Uganda Baati Foundation, we recognize that access to technology is no longer a luxury but a necessity. By providing these computers, we are helping to create an enabling environment where students can develop the digital competencies needed to thrive in today’s knowledge-based economy. We are proud to partner with organizations that share our vision of empowering young people through education,” she said.

Tahakanizibwa added that the foundation’s investments are guided by a long-term vision focused on sustainable community development and expanding opportunities beyond immediate needs.

Education, she noted, remains one of the most powerful drivers of social and economic transformation, and partnerships play a critical role in bridging resource gaps and strengthening learning institutions.

The donation is expected to improve learning outcomes and expand opportunities for students by enhancing access to technology and modern learning tools.

The Safal Uganda Baati Foundation said it remains committed to supporting initiatives that empower individuals, strengthen institutions, and promote sustainable social and economic development.
